Frequently Asked Questions

What is your normal hire period?

As a general rule it is 24 hours, we will deliver your item/s the day of your event and pick it up the following day.

If we are regional and picking up a machine, can we hold it longer?

Absolutely, pick up can be from Thursday onwards and drop back by Monday evening, all we ask is you organise this with us so we can make a mutual time that works for both of us.

When is the delivery time?

We will generally contact you the week of the hire to confirm a suitable delivery time, we try our best to be flexible and work around you, however as we cover a very large geographical area, on occasions this may not be possible. As most machines take a little while to "be ready" we will always try and be at your event at least 2 hours before the start time to allow enough time for the machine to be ready to serve.

How does Covid 19 impact the hire?

We have taken every step to help reduce the spread of Covid, we maintain a very high level of cleanliness and have a purpose built facility to clean, sanitise and store our food equipment.

Our staff have all completed the Covid 19 Aware training and as a business have a Covid safe plan. We have also introduced several procedures that all staff follow for any hosted event where we provide staff to serve, including maintaining safe distances, Covid Marshall training and limited hand to hand cross infection processes.

WE DO NOT charge a booking or cancellation fee....... EVER! we understand that Covid has placed many challenges on us, we want to make sure that if you have to make the hard decision to cancel your booking, you are not financially penalised. After all, we want to be involved in your next event at a later date.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we certainly do. including a full $20,000,000 public liability cover, we are happy to provide a certificate of currency for any hire or event, please just ask.

Please do note, as per our hire terms and conditions, when the machine is in your possession, you are responsible for it, any damage is at the hirers expense or may be covered under your home insurance policy. (please check your own policy, general advice only)

Do we need to pay a booking fee?

We do not require a booking fee to secure your booking, this is completely your choice, you can pay any amount at any time. Payment must be made prior to, or on the day of delivery, we accept cash, card and bank transfers on they day.

Some machines are very heavy, what surface is suitable?

The ice cream and slushie machines are very heavy, as an example, the 2 barrel slushie machine will weigh around 80kg's once full, we will not set up a machine on a surface that we think is unsafe as this is extremely dangerous, the machines are very expensive and can damage easily. All surfaces must be solid in nature and can not have folding legs, for example we will not set up a slushie machine on a glass table or trestle style table, they are not rated to hold this weight. A solid table or kitchen bench are more suitable. we do also have a limited number of stainless steel tables that we can include at no charge, please let us know at the time of booking as these will often get booked out early.

Do you have a "working with children" certificate?

YES, all staff are required to have and maintain a current DCSI - Working with children certificate, these are available on request, we are more than happy to email you a copy.

We have steps at our location, is delivery going to be ok?

As a general rule, we try and avoid steps where possible, most machines are very heavy and hard to move in to place, if you have more than 5 steps you will need to let us know, if you have someone able to help, that would be great, otherwise we may need to charge an additional fee for an extra staff member.

The only exception to this is the Large soft serve machine, this weigh's over 140kg and is STRICTLY - no stairs at all.

Can we add alcohol to a slushie machine?

YES, you can add alcohol to a slushie machine, we recommend 1lt of alcohol per barrel you have hired. Due to liquor licensing laws, we can not supply the alcohol but we are more than happy to mix it for you when we set the machine up, if it is available at the time of delivery.

Do we need to clean any of the machines we hire?

No, we prefer that you do not clean the machines as they can be damaged or scratched very easily, we completely strip down, clean and sanitise a machine after every hire so you cleaning it does not save us any extra time. We do ask that you empty the contents out like draining the slushie machine or removing any popped corn from the popcorn machine, we will do the rest.

Can we add ice to the slushie machine to help it freeze quicker?

Absolutely not, we ask that you do not put anything inside the machine that we haven't supplied. Ice will damage the spinning blade which are $150 to replace.

Can we add our own product to a slushie machine, like Coke?

No, you must only use the syrups we have provided, a slushie machine works on supplying the right mixture of sugar and water to stop the machine from over freezing, having the wrong mixing ratio will also damage the machine, gearbox and spinning blade which are all very expensive to replace or repair.

Are the popcorn and fairy floss machines hard to use?

No, the machines are very simple to use, providing you follow some very basic safety principals, obviously both machines get very hot so never touch the heating components. if you are still unsure, please visit our "Training Video's" for a quick step by step guide on how to use each machine.

Can you provide staff to work your machines?

Yes, we can supply staff, we do have a minimum charge of 3 hours, if the product requires setting up, as a general guide we suggest 1 hour for set up and pack up and a 2 hour serve window (for your 3 hour package) *is subject to availability.

Do you offer a discount if i want more than 1 machine?

Yes, generally we have a delivery charge built in to the first item, any other item you add to the cart will be discounted, alternatively you can always check out our specials and packages page for some great deals.

What power requirements do i need?

As a rule, we try and get 1 x appliance per 1 x power outlet, most machines are heavy power users so we do not recommend power boards, for the larger machines like donuts and ice cream, they do need a dedicated power point with no other appliance plugged in. we do also carry a range of extension leads that are fully tagged and tested if we need to run from another location.
